Avalon Wholistic Medical and Dental Centre is looking for a VR GP to join our boutique style practice located on beautiful Avalon beach. This is due to the retirement of our longstanding GP after 23 years caring for the community.

Established in 1985, Avalon Wholistic Medical and Dental Centre has been offering Complementary, Allied Health and Integrative Medical Services to our local community for almost 38 years. We have a well established, loyal client base and our clinic offers a warm and welcoming atmosphere for staff and patients alike.

We have a mix of patients and we offer both standard GP consultations as well as integrative consultations. We would like to ensure continuity of care for standard GP consultations, so integrative experience is not necessary but we would welcome a GP with an integrative approach.

* We are a private billing, AGPAL accredited practice and we offer 70% billings
* Friendly relaxed environment with another GP, Allied Health Professionals and nurse
* Full reception support with excellent, experienced administration staff
* Clinical nursing support, IV Therapy
* Natural light consulting room and sunny balcony overlooking Avalon Beach
* We offer whole patient care, often with complex presentations
* We encourage and support a culture of ongoing learning particularly in nutrition, lifestyle and integrative medicine
* VR GP required however, interest or experience in integrative medicine would be considered favourably
* Flexible session times available – full-time/part-time (if part time then prefer at least 2-3 days a week and would prefer at least 1/2 or full-day coverage on Fridays)

The Cannabis Clinic was founded in 2018 and we have consulted with thousands of patients throughout NZ through both telemedicine and in person appointments, to use plant based medicines to improve their quality of life.

We believe in the use of plant based medicine and work to advise, consult, prescribe where appropriate, follow up and care for our patients who rely on our services.

Our team of 11 doctors will help you with a vast wealth of expertise and scope to support you along the way. The clinic’s 20+ team is driven by passion and purpose – to make a meaningful impact on the lives of our patients. We love what we do and we are confident you will love working with us.

The role will involve:
– Consulting with patients and their families about specific health condition(s)
– Listening and understanding the unique problems each patient presents with
following up patients and families
– Documentation of the above

This role suits someone who is a quick learner, can work independently and is comfortable working in a fast paced and changing environment. Amazing team and clinic atmosphere.

Start date ASAP.

Training materials and support provided. Competitive hourly rates.

Starting hours 15 – 35 hours per week.
